Gundam Age-2 Normal Bandai HG

It has been a long while since I had last assembled a Gundam Model kit. This new Gundam Age 1/144 HG kit is a huge step up from those kits that I built in the 1990s.

The parts fit together really well and the pieces are designed in such a way that when assembled, the seams become the panel lining.

For example, I remember that the older kits used to have two distinct halves for the legs, creating an unsightly seam-line down the middle of the thigh and shin area. Alot of work was required to putty the seams and I really disliked that.

Even without painting it, the model looks great. Colours are cartoon-accurate and I particularly like the display stand that comes with these Gundam Age kits.

The stand allows for a much greater poseabilty and has been designed so that all the extra pieces that come with the model (extra hands, transformation parts) can be fitted underneath or at the back of the stand.

Articulation is awesome considering that this is a HG model. The head, shoulders, arms, hands, waist, legs and feet feature a wide range of articulation, allowing the model to adopt a whole slew of cool poses.

Bandai model kits have really improved tremendously over the years.

A feature I like about the Gundam Age-2 model is that it transforms into a spacecraft.

The stand works nicely for displaying the model in either modes.

Another angle of the vehicle mode.
And a frontal view.

I will be assembling the Age-FX and Age-3 Normal models soon so stay tuned!
